Beta Terms of Use
These terms apply to the current SimpliEng website and beta/pre-release application.
1. Purpose of SimpliEng
SimpliEng provides engineering calculation, screening and planning tools intended to help competent users assess common industrial tasks. It is designed to simplify access to engineering calculations, not to replace site procedures, statutory obligations, manufacturer instructions, SDS information, competent engineering judgement or formal design approval.
2. User responsibility
Users are responsible for confirming that:
- inputs are correct, current and applicable to the actual equipment, chemical and operating conditions;
- the selected calculation is suitable for the intended purpose;
- required permits, procedures, isolations, inspections and competent-person approvals are in place;
- all safety-critical decisions are independently verified where required.
3. Green / Amber / Red results
A Green result means that the implemented calculation and enabled data checks passed the criteria built into that module. It does not constitute permission to perform an operation or a guarantee that all hazards, equipment limitations or site-specific conditions have been assessed.
4. Data and calculation boundaries
Only data specifically enabled for a production calculation should be treated as built-in property data. Unsupported, incomplete or out-of-range chemical properties may be blocked or flagged for verification.
5. Availability and changes
SimpliEng may be updated, corrected, restricted or withdrawn during beta testing. Saved local data may be lost if browser/device storage is cleared or the beta application is replaced.
6. Intellectual property
The SimpliEng name, visual identity, application design, documentation and original software/materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Use of the beta does not transfer ownership of those rights.
7. No unauthorised hazardous use
Do not use SimpliEng as the sole basis for performing a hazardous chemical transfer, pressurisation, electrical intervention, structural design or other safety-critical activity.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the beta application is provided for evaluation and planning purposes without a promise that it is suitable for every site, process or operating condition. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
